Winter Lift Operator

Position Status: Full-Time, Seasonal, Hourly
Lift Operators are a crucial role in having a successful season. Not only do you maintain a high standard of safety in the load/unload areas, you will be face to face to all guests who visit Mt. Sima. Greeting, answering questions, small talk, helping beginners, kids, or fellow co-workers, the day begins with you in the eyes of the guests.

Major Functions:

  • Safely operate all surface and above surface lifts at Mt. Sima for public and staff transport.
  • Be proficient with daily start-up and shutdown of all lifts.
  • Be proficient with safe stopping and starting of all lifts.
  • Load and unload passengers.
  • Responsible for completing all daily lift logs.
  • Be fully trained in all lift evacuation procedures by attending all training sessions as required.
  • Responsible for set up and end-of-day procedures.
  • Enforce lift policy for staff and guests.
  • Perform proper maintenance to lift area, ramps, maze, and garbage as directed.
  • Other labour and general facility maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

  • Be able to work in all weather conditions. This is an outside position.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to stay alert and focused during repetitive tasks
  • Previous lift operation or ski hill experience is an asset but not required – training will be provided

This position will require you to attend in-person and hands-on training on January 14th.
