Position Status:
Part Time (20-30 hours/week or flexible hours) seasonal work (16
weeks minimum) at an hourly rate. This position is for December 2025 through April 2026, and offers the possibility to work Wednesday to Sunday weekly or as desired.
Job summary:
You will be responsible for providing a fun and memorable learning
experience for guests who are learning to ski or snowboard, or are
wanting to improve their technique and take their skills to the next
level. While you will provide lessons for all ages, the majority of
lessons will be for children aged 4-12.
Duties:
- Teach lessons following the Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance
(CSIA) and the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI)
methodologies - Organize the lesson to create a fun learning environment that suits each guest's unique needs
- Ensure that lessons are taught in a safe and controlled manner to match the experience and ability level of each guest
- Supervise a group of children in a variety of activities including instruction, safety, and special events
- Provide lesson feedback and evaluation to the guests and/or their parents/guardians
- Follow the guidelines and safety rules as outlined in the Safety Manual
- Care for the physical, and emotional needs of the children in your lessons
- Act as a prudent parent in the absence of the child's parent
- Attend all mandatory training sessions
Qualifications:
- Resume is required
- Demonstrate safe work practices
- Minimum CSIA Level 1, PSIC Level 1, or CASI Level 1 certification
- If
you are not yet certified, we will be offering a CSIA Level 1 Ski
Instructor course, a CASI Level 1 Snowboard Instructor course and a CADS
adaptive instructor course at Mt Sima this December. You must be at
least 14 years old to complete the CSIA course, and 15 years old to
complete the CASI and CADS course.

- Required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check certificate (valid within 18 months of your start date)
Preference given to those with:
- Previous instructing experience
- Previous experience working with children
- Higher level certifications and/or multiple certifications in snow sports
- Second language is an asset
