Wildstone is a General Contractor currently looking for a Sheet Metal Journeyperson experienced in the fabrication of HVAC systems to join our new fabrication shop in Whitehorse, YT.
Here’s what you’ll do:
You’ll take the lead on fabricating, assembling, and finishing a wide range of sheet metal components for ductwork and ventilation and make-up air systems. From laying out and measuring materials to operating shop equipment, you’ll ensure every piece is cut, shaped, and assembled with accuracy and to specifications. You’ll also help keep things running smoothly in the shop by managing inventory, placing orders for sheet metal materials and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Additional day to day tasks:
- Operate shop machinery such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses
- Fit and join sheet metal parts using welding, riveting, soldering, and other joining techniques
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and alignment with specifications
- Assist in training apprentices or less experienced workers in shop practices and techniques
- Grind, buff, and finish seams and joints to meet our quality standards.

Here’s what you bring to the role:
You’re a certified Sheet Metal Journeyperson with a solid understanding of HVAC fabrication. You take pride in your work, show up ready to go, and know how to work both independently and as part of a team. Reading technical drawings comes easily to you, and you’re skilled using shop machinery. Additionally:
- Good math, spatial perception, and attention to detail are your strengths.
- You’re willing to work Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with flexibility for extra hours when needed
- Safety is second nature to you; you’ve got a strong track record of working responsibly and making sure equipment is kept in great condition.
- You have or are willing to obtain tickets like Fall Protection, WHMIS 2015, Elevated Work Platform, Level 1 First Aid, and H2S Alive.
If you’re looking for hands-on work, a close-knit team, and the chance to build something that matters—we’d love to hear from you.
