This For the coming fall semester, the following courses are available for those who may be interested:HCA 121 - Healing 1 B – Common Health Challenges (45-hour course)This is a basic pathophysiology course. The course explores common challenges to health and healing in relation to each body system. Students will also learn to apply person-centred practice as it relates to the common challenges to health. Class dates/times: Wednesday: Sept 10- Dec 3 (1300-1600) Friday: Sept 19 (1300-1600) & Nov 14 (1300-1600) Monday: Dec 8 (1300-1600 final exam)HCA 160 - Clinical Placement: Long Term CareThis Practicum course gives students the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in HCA theory/lab courses to give safe, competent care to individuals living in long term care. Students are buddied with appropriate Care Aide staff and supervised by the practicum course instructor. Instructors are on-site with students in Long Term Care facilities during student shifts. Practicum shift dates/times: Thursday: Oct 9-Nov 20 (0700-1500)Thursday: Dec 4 - 18 (0700-1500)Friday: Nov 28, Dec 12 & 19 (0700-1500)Wednesday: Dec 10 (0700-1500)Tuesday: Dec 9 – 16 (0700-1500)Monday: Dec 15 (0700-1500)
