The Yukon Suspension Bridge is now hiring a general handyperson for a seasonal position. Join us for an exciting summer as we receive tourists from all over the world at our remote site. This is an opportunity to help provide visitors with a unique and safe experience as they tour our Outdoor Museum and Suspension Bridge. If you are looking for a fun (and gorgeous) setting in which to work this summer season, this is the place for you.
To be qualified to work with us, you should:
- Have at least 2 years experience working as a general handyperson
- Have experience with generators
- Have experience with plumbing and water/sewer systems
- Have experience building/repairing wood structures
- Experience working on a remote site preferred
- Be organized and efficient
- Have good time management skills
- Be able to keep a clean and tidy work area
- Have a valid drivers license
- Be a happy and outgoing individual
- Be available to work five days a week
- Be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Be able to be on call in the evenings if an emergency takes place
- Be able to work on your own, as well as part of a team
- Be available to work from May 1st to September 30th
- Be a Canadian citizen or have a valid work visa
- Be available to live in staff accommodations on site for the season
We will consider a part time position (2 weeks on and 2 weeks off) for the right applicant, but please note salary will be adjusted accordingly.
