Working under the Owner’s direction, this role supports the upkeep of a diverse fleet, including tractors, trailers, dump trucks, and heavy equipment. Responsibilities include adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts on commercial transport trucks—covering chassis, frame, cab, body, engine, drivetrain, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems—using hand tools and specialized equipment. It also involves similar work on truck-trailer systems, including brake and electrical components, as well as performing routine maintenance like oil changes, lubrications, and PMVI. The job requires completing detailed reports on issues and repairs, working efficiently, and attending safety meetings. Candidates must have a Journeyman Certificate (red seal) for trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment, a valid Class 1 driver’s license with air brakes, and be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Desired skills include having a full set of tools, strong communication abilities, teamwork, computer proficiency for job tracking, and solid organizational skills.
