Process Superintendent - Water Treatment

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Superintendent - Water Treatment to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee water treatment operations of the Faro Mine site.

This is a rotational position working at the Faro Mine Site in Faro, YT.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage Water Treatment operations
  • Assist forecasting the required labour level of effort monthly.
  • Manage support equipment including pumps and piping for conveyance systems from pits and ponds to the water treatment plants.
  • Complete timely and accurate daily records of plant and pumping performance
  • Use data to support continuous improvement of the operations.
  • Conduct daily site inspection and record observations.
  • Manage the inventory of the consumables required for water treatment processes (lime, acid, floc, etc)
  • Notify Management of risks relating to the water treatment process, pumps and pipelines
  • Maintain compliance with safety and environment
  • Ensuring that the necessary resources are available and brought to bear in a timely manner
  • Managing within the project budget to ensure maximum value to our client for expenditures
  • Monitoring project and Team member performance in a unionized environment
  • To support the Maintenance Team with planned maintenance activities on water treatment facilities

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 10 Years minimum of industrial or mine water treatment experience
  • Demonstrated management experience of pumping/conveyance and lime treatment operations for large scale contaminated water management programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating crews more than 25 including operators, and administrative staff.
  • Ability to lift 20 kg.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Knowledge of Canadian OHS Code, Territorial and Municipal Building codes
  • Computer Skills -Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk
