Position Summary
Northline Group is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Office Assistant to support our daily administrative and operational activities. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, as this position involves frequent interaction with clients, drivers, and management. You will assist with logistics coordination, documentation, and general office operations to help ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our transport business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily office communications, including phone calls, emails, and client inquiries
- Draft and send professional correspondence, service quotes, and confirmations to clients and partners
- Support basic bookkeeping tasks such as invoicing, data entry, and expense tracking
- Maintain accurate digital and paper records of shipments, invoices, and other documents
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating deliveries, moving jobs, and transport logistics
- Support the operations team with driver dispatch, route planning, and progress updates
- Communicate effectively with management to ensure client needs and deadlines are met
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months to 2 year of administrative or office experience (experience in transportation, logistics, or operations preferred)
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to compose clear, professional, and courteous emails
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer literacy
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is an asset
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
- Positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Whitehorse or Yukon logistics operations is an asset
