JOB DUTIES – KITCHEN HELPER (NOC 65201)
- Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits
- Assist in basic food preparation under the supervision of cooks and chefs
- Portion and wrap food items
- Heat and finish simple food items
- Prepare and package take-out food
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
- Keep records of food quantities used
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and utensils
- Wash dishes, glassware, and kitchen utensils
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist cooks during busy meal periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
