About the Role:
Cobalt Construction Inc. is seeking a motivated and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic Shop Hand (Mechanic Helper) to support our mechanical team in maintaining and servicing a large fleet of heavy equipment. This position is ideal for someone that has experience in a hands-on, fast-paced shop environment with knowledge, training and experience in working around heavy duty equipment. The successful candidate will assist Lead mechanics with repairs, maintenance tasks, shop organization, and general labour duties to help ensure efficient shop operations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Heavy Duty Mechanics with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment
  • Perform general shop clean-up and organization duties
  • Wash, grease, and prepare equipment for service
  • Move tools, parts, and materials as required
  • Assist with parts inventory and shop supply management
  • Operate basic tools and equipment safely
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Knowledge, training and experience with heavy duty equipment
  • Previous experience working as a Mechanic Helper in a shop environment
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or higher)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening
  • Sufficient English language proficiency to safely understand instructions, safety policies, and workplace communications

Work Schedule & Details:

  • Full-time, permanent position
