The successful candidate will work under the Lead Electrical Engineer but must be comfortable in managing multiple tasks/projects independently, and be capable of design, drafting and written communication (reports, emails, etc.).
TAG will cover costs of relocating to our Whitehorse or Yellowknife office. Please indicate which office you would be interested/willing to work in, in your application.
About Us
The firm was founded in Yellowknife over 40 years ago. Since that time, we have been committed to developing our practice in Canada’s arctic/sub-arctic context, to serve northern—primarily First Nation and Inuit—communities. The firm has grown to include three offices (Yellowknife as the head office, with satellite offices in Whitehorse and Ottawa) with design teams led by licensed architects and engineers, as well as specialist research. In 2018 we also added TAG Engineering to the TAG group of companies to enable us to deliver integrated Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering design services for our clients.
Our approach is iterative, integrated, and process driven. Every project (which includes mid- to large-scale civil, educational, institutional and residential facilities, as well as smaller-scale commercial and residential projects) is different, with unique challenges and opportunities. Using our experience, we develop approaches that address both the challenging climate as well as the unique culture and context and construction challenges (logistics of shipping materials, working in the cold, etc.). We design to high energy efficiency standards and work closely with communities to develop buildings that work best for their needs. We understand that each project – whether it’s a cultural centre, an industrial garage, or anything in between – is extremely important to the host community. We aim to deliver deep and lasting value with every project we undertake.
TAG’s projects are located predominantly in remote communities across the three territories. Our team members are invited into unique travel opportunities, often taking small aircraft to the breathtaking high arctic. By nature of TAG’s history and context, our workplace is a welcoming, social, and dynamic team environment. If you are looking for an opportunity to apply your creative assets, while living the adventure of Canada’s Far North, send your application to [email protected].
