Games and Slots Manager

This is a seasonal, management position with Klondike Visitors Association (KVA). KVA is a well-established, successful, not-for-profit, destination marketing organization, based in Dawson City, Yukon. Diamond Tooth Gerties is the primary source of funds for KVA and the proceeds from the Casino are used to implement the KVA mandate.
Duration: Full Time, January 19th – October 24th, 2026
Scope of Responsibilities and Duties
All managers and staff are employed under the authority of the Executive Director. The Games & Slots Manager reports directly to the Casino Manager or designate and works in close cooperation with the Gerties Management team, including, but not limited to:
-Responsible for day-to-day oversight and operational communications with staff and DTG Management.
-Provides in conjunction with the Casino Manager and the Shift Manager, recruitment, training, scheduling, payroll, supervision and evaluation of Games & Slots employees in compliance with established KVA/DTG policy and practice and the Collective Agreement.
-Contributes to forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on expenditures.
-Participates in the development and implementation of KVA gaming strategies and Responsible Gambling strategies.
-Responsible for enforcement of all DTG policy and practice consistent with approved licenses and KVA standards.
-Other duties as assigned under the authority of the Casino Manager – see KVA Organizational Chart for reporting lines of authority.
Essential Qualifications
-Must have a minimum of five years of operational experience in the gaming industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Proven leadership skills and the ability to train, direct, motivate and supervise employees.
-Proven team building skills and experience.
-Demonstrated good time management skills.
-Proven ability to apply industry standards in the context of a rural community setting
-Familiarity with Yukon Territory gaming legislation and regulatory framework as it relates to gaming operations.
-Requires very good oral and written communication skills in a variety of communication formats that will be directed to employees, contractors, customers, government agents, community groups and the media.
-Understanding of problem gambling indicators and associated responsible gambling interventions.
