Recovery House Manager

The Thay K’I Anint’I (TKA) is committed to supporting persons in recovery and the Recovery House provides a safe place. The programs and services available are rooted in the cultural values and practices of the aboriginal people of Yukon.
Reporting to the Visionary, the Recovery House Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Recovery House and the Team Members providing services to Drop-In and Program Participants.
A team approach is central to quality service delivery and to the establishment and implementation of programs and services, as set out in the TKA Strategic Plan.
Required Qualifications (what we look for on your resume): An equivalent combination of post-secondary education (i.e.: Diploma), combined with significant current/lived experience in the areas identified above, will equally be considered.
• Business Administration/Human Resources/Project Management diploma;
• Experience in:
o attending meetings for the recording of discussions and participation in providing updates.
o preparing Annual Filing with the Society’s Registrar.
o managing budgets.
o recruiting and on-boarding Contractors.
o development and implementation of Strategic Plans.
o developing and maintaining relationships with organizations, funding partners and sub-contractors.
o developing and implementing a variety of tools to further develop the organization, such as:
 Marketing Plan.
 Funding Strategy.
o review and update policies and procedures.
o maintain program reporting database for evaluation of programs and designing additional programming, as required.
o maintain filing systems – digital and hard copy.
o assist in development of funding applications, strategic and goal planning, and budget and audit requirements.
o preparation of monthly activity reports on activities.
Required knowledge and skills (what we assess):
• knowledge of Thay K’i Anint’i, the Yukon First Nations - heritage and culture, social structure, language and traditions, goals, and aspirations are essential for success in this position
• excellent ability to build and maintain relationships, including:
o gaining trust/respect, using tact and diplomacy exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
• strong understanding and knowledge of various acts, regulations, and policies.
• sound written and verbal communication skills.
• ability to promote cultural awareness.
• strong time management and organizational skills
• ability to enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Conditions of employment: an acceptable pre-employment criminal records check with vulnerable sector search, valid class 5 Driver’s License; and hold or be willing to be certified in - Standard First Aid & CPR, Food Safe, and Suicide Prevention.
Job Requirements: Willingness to work flexible work hours including some evenings and weekends.
