Mechanic

We are seeking a full time mechanic who is capable of working on heavy equipment and trucks. Will be based out of Whitehorse with minimal out of town work. A mechanic will be require to: complete repairs, document repairs, source parts, maintain parts inventory, general shop duties.
General Duties

• Diagnosing and repairing all types of equipment
• Documenting all repairs, maintenance and work done in the fleet binders
• Sourcing parts and supplies with fiscal responsibility
• Keeping an eye on parts and supply inventory
• Following tag-out procedure for all vehicle and equipment requiring service
• Testing repaired equipment for proper performance
• Repairing equipment within ability

Candidate Requirements

• Background in mechanical repair
• Automotive ticket is asset
• Heavy duty ticket is an asset
• Must be able to work in and around Whitehorse
• Must possess a class 5 license
• Class 1 license an asset
• Language of Work: English
• May be on-call and be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
