Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to assist our team of chefs in our Indian restaurant. The Kitchen Helper will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks such as food preparation, dishwashing, and cleaning the kitchen. The ideal candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for the food industry.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the chefs in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, cutting meats, and measuring ingredients
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized at all times
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
  • Stock and organize ingredients and supplies in the kitchen
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment by following food safety guidelines
  • Follow recipes accurately and consistently to ensure high-quality dishes
  • Assist with plating and presentation of dishes as needed
  • Help with any other tasks assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a restaurant kitchen preferred, but not required
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
