LDAY Camp Raven - Winter Camp Director

LDAY Winter Camp Raven is a fun, activity based day camp for children and youth with learning difficulties (academic, social and/or emotional). We're looking for an enthusiastic leader to plan and run our days of camp!
The Camp Director will:

  • Plan activities for two weeks of day camp sessions during March Break (March 10 - 14 and 17 - 27)
  • Gather materials to implement plans
  • Engage with children in camp activities
  • Work with other camp staff to ensure the safety and well being of the children
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills
  • Complete a final report

    • The knowledge and skills required to perform this job are:

  • Skills and experience working with children
  • Knowledge of or a desire to learn about learning disabilities
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Valid driver’s license
  • First Aid/CPR, Wilderness First Aid an asset

    • The position will begin in early February and end in late March (flexible hours and start/stop dates, but must be available for all camp days).
    The Learning Disabilities Association of Yukon (LDAY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of learning differences, and supporting children, youth and adults with learning difficulties or disabilities. LDAY provides leadership through advocacy, education, programs and services.
