Summary
NVD is hiring Kitchen Helpers to join the back-of-house teams in our hospitality division, which includes Carved, Belly of the Bison, and the Gold Pan Saloon in Whitehorse. These are busy kitchens where the pace is real and the standards matter - your effort directly impacts every plate that leaves the pass. If you’re reliable, quick on your feet, and take pride in a clean, organized workspace, you’ll be a key part of the crew that keeps service running smooth and customers coming back for more.
What Does Your Success Look Like?
- Service runs smoother because you’re on the team: dish flow stays under control, stations stay stocked, and cooks can focus on cooking instead of scrambling.
- The kitchen stays clean, safe, and inspection-ready: you keep dish and prep areas organized, follow Food Safe practices, and stay on top of sanitation routines every shift.
- Prep support is reliable: basic prep tasks get done correctly and on time, so the line is set up for a strong service.
- You bring pace and pride to the work: you move quickly, stay organized under pressure, and take ownership of the details that keep a kitchen running.
- You handle equipment with confidence and care: you safely operate kitchen equipment (fryer, grill, oven, dispensers, etc.) to support service and prep - following portioning, timing, and safety standards.
What You Bring To The Role
- 6+ months experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Preference given to applicants with culinary training
- A strong work ethic and comfort working on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow direction, stay organized, and keep standards high under pressure.
- You make the team better: you’re dependable, helpful, and steady - jumping in where needed and contributing to a positive back-of-house culture.
