HVAC North is a locally owned and operated HVAC company based in Whitehorse, Yukon. Due to continued growth and increasing demand for our services, we are seeking a Journeyperson HVAC/R Technician (HVAC/R, Gas Fitter, or Oil Burner Mechanic) to join our team.
As a newer but rapidly expanding company, HVAC North offers the opportunity to be part of a growing operation, with room for advancement, additional training, and increased responsibility as the company develops.
Position Overview
The successful applicant will be responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of a wide range of residential, commercial, and light industrial HVAC/R equipment within the territory.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC/R systems
Work on equipment including (but not limited to):
Refrigeration systems
Rooftop units
Make-up air units
Oil-fired appliances
Propane (LP) and gas-fired equipment
Boiler / Hydronic systems
Perform work safely and efficiently in accordance with applicable codes and standards
Communicate professionally with clients and team members
Required Qualifications
Red Seal Journeyperson certification or equivalent (HVAC/R, Gas Fitter, or Oil Burner Mechanic)
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials
Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract
Remote & Northern Work
This position may include remote or fly-in work within Yukon and surrounding regions
Remote work may involve extended shifts, camp accommodations, or travel by air or winter road, depending on project location
Candidates must be comfortable working independently in remote environments and adapting to Northern site conditions
Travel time, accommodations, and work rotations will be discussed in advance on a per-project basis
