We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. This position keep the equipment that maintains the roads safe and reliable. We maintain a large variety of equipment from snow blowers, loaders, packers to KW and Western Star dump and highway trucks and we have the largest CAT grader fleet in Western Canada.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic and/or
- Red Seal Journeyman Truck and Coach Mechanic
- Experience diagnosing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing mobile and stationary equipment.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Extensive experience diagnosing and troubleshooting aftertreatment systems, diesel engines, transmissions, and other such components.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following conditions (s) of employment:
- Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Mechanic and/or Red Seal Journeyperson Truck and Coach Mechanic
- Valid Class 5 Yukon Driver's License
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Valid Class 3 Yukon Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate (to be obtained within 6 months of hire).
Job Requirements
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:
- Capacity to lift heavy objects and work at heights,
- Work in adverse weather conditions,
- Guide and work with apprentice mechanics,
- Work outside of headquarters area for extended periods of time,
- Accept standby shift responsibilities.
- Use personal protective equipment.
- Steel toes work boots
- Personal tool kit
