North End Gallery is a premier destination in Whitehorse for Yukon and Canadian art. We are looking for someone keen to take on the role of our lead customer service position. Our ideal candidate will be someone ready to embrace the independence, responsibility, and potential this position offers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- assisting customers to find their ideal artwork in person and over phone/email,
- packaging and preparing e-commerce orders for shipping,
- using your creativity to create store displays,
- assisting with placing product orders,
- working with our digital marketing team as a content creator,
- fostering good relationships with the artists we represent,
- mentoring junior staff by being an excellent role model,
- receiving, pricing, displaying, and storing inventory,
- operating the computer POS system,
- being a key holder for the gallery
Requirements:
- willingness to learn about Yukon art and artists,
- strong organizational skills and attention to detail,
- ability to maintain a calm and kind demeanour under pressure,
- desire to take initiative,
- customer service and cash handling experience,
- maintain effective working relationships with a small team of colleagues,
- 2nd language is an asset,
- computer fluency including knowledge of MS Office, photo editing software, etc,
- photography and videography skills,
- familiarity with First Nations culture and history,
- education related to digital marketing, art, and art history,
- capable of standing for long periods and lifting boxes up to 30lbs
