Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Door Assembler to join our team. This opportunity involves working with specialized equipment and tools to assemble wood doors and related hardware.
Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reading and interpreting production orders, diagrams, computer-aided drawings and plans.
  • Reading and using a tape measure to measure doors, door lites and cutouts and/or door frames in accurate manner.
  • Cutting and manufacturing doorframes.
  • Selecting, sanding, trimming, and inspecting of wood used for door assembly.
  • Safely operating hand, power, and machine tools to drill, cut and assemble door frames and install hardware.
  • Operating air-Nailers, chop saws, table saws, hand sanders and other tools to make a quality product.
  • Setting up machinery and equipment; assisting with maintenance of machinery.
  • Installing glass into frames and doors.
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and packaging finished products and verifying products for quality checks.
  • Completing paperwork, including job sheets and quality assurance documents.
  • Notifying the supervisor when supplies are low to ensure adequate amounts are available in the Door Shop.
  • Assisting with inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Keeping shop tidy.

Work Environment
Working inside a door shop. Dusty conditions. Physically demanding for heavy lifting, standing, bending. Work sites require full PPE. 40-hour work weeks.
Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school
  • Must have a minimum of 7 months experience in working as a door assembler
  • Aptitude for math, measuring and the use of power/hand tools are a must
  • Must have experience with inventory
  • Must have experience with handling glass products
  • Knowledge of and experience with job related safety procedures
  • Punctual and strong work ethic are a must
  • Willing to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Willing to learn and take additional training as required
