Wild Adventure Yukon is a busy tourism business based in beautiful Carcross, YT. We are seeking a Dog Handler to help us out with the remainder of our summer season, starting ASAP ending late September.
Our ideal candidate is a patient, dog-loving person with excellent customer service skills. You must be able to work independently and as part of a wider team to ensure an excellent guest experience. Dog Handling or Animal Care experience preferred, but full training will be provided to the right person. Must have good English skills and the ability to give guests direction and speak confidently to small crowds. Position starts at $20p/h, negotiable depending on experience. Must love dogs!
We have a team of 75 dogs who work in our Dog Yard, running cart rides for guests from all over the world. These are trained professionals who give our guests an experience of a lifetime! While we have no snow to run on - we use motorized vehicles, custom made to hold up to 12 people at one time. The dogs 'pull' the cart in a simulation dog sled ride around a 2.5km trail. Our teams use all the skills they acquire in their winter training and competitions, so our guests learn about mushing, training and what it takes to run a race in the Yukon!
Seeking someone to work with us 3 to 5 days per week. Shared staff accommodation available. Unfortunately we cannot host pets on-site at this time.
