Walker Home Construction is seeking a Class 1 Long Haul and Expediter Driver / Equipment Operator to support our growing portfolio of residential, multi-family, and community housing projects across the Yukon. This full-time role is based in Whitehorse with regular travel to project sites and occasional long-haul trips outside the territory.

What You’ll Do:
- Drive trucks and trailers to safely transport construction equipment and materials to job sites
- Operate equipment including skid steers (T76 and T650), mini excavator, forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom cranes as required
- Load and unload materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Provide general support on construction sites including lifting, digging, and assisting crews as needed
- Complete digital driver daily logs, inspection reports, and required documentation accurately and on time
- Follow all company safety policies and Yukon/National Safety Code regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crews, and suppliers to coordinate deliveries and logistics
- Support long-haul trips outside Yukon (BC/AB) on an as-needed basis
- Maintain clean and organized vehicles and equipment
What You Bring:
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract
- Heavy Haul Endorsement and Air Brake endorsement required
- Strong knowledge of Yukon Commercial Vehicle requirements and National Safety Code regulations
- Experience operating trucks, trailers, and construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, forklifts, and scissor lifts
- Experience with digital logbooks, hours of service, pre-trip inspections, and cargo securement
- Crane operation certification considered an asset
- Familiarity with construction materials and site operations
- Ability to perform physical labour including lifting, digging, and working outdoors
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Attention to detail and strong safety mindset
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required
