They should be comfortable handling cash, using POS systems, and managing inventory. A dependable team player, they should be able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities and capable of managing a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Previous retail or bookstore experience is a plus, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key.Key Duties:• Delivering friendly and efficient service to bookstore customers.• Providing relevant information about Yukon University and directing patrons to appropriate college resources.• Informing students and instructors about textbook availability.• Operating the cash register and processing payments via debit machine. Handling and recording cash transactions for re-sales and other in-house activities. Accepting credit card payments, obtaining necessary authorizations, and completing sales transactions.• Reconciliation of the cash drawer at the end of each day by comparing it with the register tape printout.• Receiving new stock, verifying invoices against merchandise, pricing items, stocking shelves, and processing books for return for credit.• Preparing various types of correspondence such as posters, flyers, and letters to sponsors informing them of textbook costs for their clients.• Organizing and filing invoices, requisitions, correspondence, flyers, sales data, and other related documents.Yukon University, with its main campus in Whitehorse and 12 community campuses across the territory, offers leadership through its strong programming, services, and research initiatives.
