Animal Care Attendant

Humane Society Dawson is seeking a part-time Animal Care Attendant.
Wage: $19/hour
AVAILABILITY

• 20 hours per week over 4 shifts
• Start date: To be negotiated

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Animal Care: Perform basic care for dogs and cats, including:

• Walking dogs and letting them out in the yard.
• Cleaning kennels and common areas of the shelter.
• Managing laundry and other necessary cleaning tasks to maintain a sanitary environment.

• Customer Service: Answer phone calls and provide guidance to the public regarding programs and services offered by the shelter.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Transportation: Must have a reliable method of transportation, as the animal shelter is located in Callison Industrial area.
• Animal Comfort: Must be comfortable and confident around dogs and cats, understanding their behavior and needs.
• Physical Capability: Ability to walk dogs for 20 minutes at a time as part of daily responsibilities.
• Experience: Previous experience in animal care and basic customer service is an asset.
• Availability: Must be easily reachable by the Shelter Coordinator for on-call needs or changes in schedule.
• Independence: Capable of working unsupervised and taking initiative in completing tasks.
• First Aid Certification: A valid First Aid Certificate is recommended but not required.
