Come work for us!! Assistant Archivist summer position – 14 weeks; $23 per hour + 4% vacation pay
**Start date: May 26th and running to August 29th, 2025**
This job is to work in Whitehorse, Yukon on approximately 20 boxes Anglican Church historical records (documents, photographs, publications, etc.) and approximately 200 maps dating from 1900s to the early 2000s and to get them transferred to the Yukon Archives. To achieve this goal, the records will need to be inventoried, sorted, grouped, and readied for transfer to the Yukon Archives. They will then be appraised for selection by an Archivist and then the records retained will be re-housed into new boxes and folders and made available in a finding aid for research, study and use. You will work with staff at the Synod of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Yukon and at Yukon Archives. There will be lots to learn and we’ll make sure you feel engaged!
We are looking to hire a student who is interested in Canadian history and who has a high attention to detail, is comfortable working independently and in teams, who would like to work with historic documents, maps and photographs, has an ability to work with both word processing (WORD) and spreadsheet (such as Excel) software, and who is comfortable multi-tasking.
The ideal student has an interest in Canadian history and has taken some classes at College or University. Willing to consider high school graduates. Priority for an Indigenous student.

- · a Canadian citizen, be a permanent resident, or have official refugee status in Canada
- · Registered as a high school, college, CEGEP, or university student and intend to return to studies during or after the YCW job.
